Repair and replacement
What is the difference between windshield repair and replacement?
Repair fills and stabilizes a small area of damage while keeping the original glass. Replacement removes the windshield and installs a new one. More on repair.
Can a rock chip be repaired?
Many small chips can be, depending on size, depth, location and whether they've spread. Not every chip is repairable. Rock-chip guidance.
How quickly should I address a windshield chip?
Sooner is generally better. Temperature changes, vibration and moisture can cause a chip to spread, which may rule out repair.
What should I do if the damage is in the driver's line of sight?
Have it inspected. Damage in the driver's direct view is often a reason to consider replacement rather than repair, and it may affect visibility while driving.
How long does windshield replacement take?
It depends on the vehicle and the glass. Ask when you call, and ask separately how long the adhesive needs to cure before the vehicle is safe to drive — that wait is part of the job, not an extra.
Does my vehicle need ADAS or camera calibration after windshield replacement?
Some vehicles with windshield-mounted cameras need recalibration per the manufacturer. Camera calibration is a service offered through this site — our ADAS calibration page explains what it involves and when it may be needed.

Is this a general glass shop or glass company?
No. This site covers vehicle glass only — windshields, windshield repair and rock chips. It does not handle home windows, window screens, shower doors or storefront glass.

What information is needed to provide a quote?
Vehicle year, make and model; any cameras, rain sensors or heated glass; where the damage is and how large it is; and your city.
Can I submit photos of the damage?
Online photo upload isn't available yet. Describe the damage in the form, or mention you have photos when you call.
Do you provide mobile windshield service?
Whether a job can be handled where your vehicle is parked, or needs to be brought somewhere, depends on the vehicle, the glass and the weather. Ask when you call (208) 269-4707.
Can you work with insurance?
If you intend to make an insurance claim, say so when you call (208) 269-4707 so it can be discussed before anything is scheduled.

Requests through this site are for windshields — replacement, repair and rock chips. If you need a side window or back glass, ask on the call and you'll be told whether it can be handled.
Do you work on commercial vehicles or fleets?
This site is set up for privately owned passenger vehicles. Fleet and commercial work is not handled through these pages.
